explosive bear is a really awesome band, and they put up their whole cd up to download on their website: http://www.explosivebear.com/ and you can check out their myspace too: http://www.myspace.com/explosivebear . especially listen to "adventures in bear country"; that's my favorite.
i don't even know these guys or anything, but they're like white guys rapping and it's pretty amazing and i think you should check it out. and if you haven't yet, please check out my band's new stuff too!

checkout the new belt i sort of made::
chchchchchchcheckitout )
i bought the belt in newyorkcity, and removed the buckle part, and replaced it with a seatbelt i found in my brother's room when we were cleaning it over the summer. i apologize for the lame myspacesque method in which this picture was taken. oh, and i'm finally shaving tomorrow, for the first time since early july. and this past weekend i went to boston and had a really awesome time with lauren. and ITT is recording more songs the weekend of october 8-9, so we have to practice this coming weekend. over and out connecticut.

livejournal? oh yeah! i forgot all about you. not really though, i just haven't felt like updating in a while. uhh whatsup. soo i'm back at rpi. but not right now. right now i'm on my laptop at the clubhouse, a recording studio rhinebeck. jeff has been interning here, and he got to hang out with thursday while they recorded here! cool right? yeah so he's getting us sort of a discount. so far it's been going pretty well, except i'm playing like shit. it sucks because i practiced soo much this week. more than i've ever practiced in one week before. but my lips are just being gay. ooh well. i'm sure when it's all done and mixed it'll sound good regardless. we're doing four new songs: artax, eye for an eye, over by Christmas, and letting go. it's going to be awesome. i think we're going to release them on an EP. and then later this fall, we're going to record a full album at jeff's school, st rose. so that'll be cool. especially since ITT has never released a full album. but we have enough new material to do it, and it's free, and it's going to be awesome, so we might as well.

so in other news, my dorm is totally freakin sweet. i probably already told you about the setup when i first heard we were going to be living in mcgiffert, buttt it's got a big livingroom/kitchenette, all four of us get our own rooms with different locks and share a bathroom, and we each get our own phone number (i posted mine on my website if you want it). my goods at the moment consist of a handle of barcardi gold and a half liter of superior. hollaaa.

the first week was kinda tough, but i've started to get back into the swing of school. having class 8-2 twice a week is kinda tough though; so far i haven't been able to stay awake the whole time. but other than that my schedule is pretty easy. as far as difficulty goes, it seems like materials science (which is like chemistry with solids) is going to be pretty easy (so far i've gotten 20/20 and 22/20 on the first two quizzes). strength of materials seems pretty hard (i got a 7/10 on the first homework) but hopefully i'll be able to keep up and do well on the tests. history of western music seems alright, there are just annoying online quizzes that i have to take. engineering design seems like it will be pretty annoying, but maybe it'll be helpful - i had to give a presentation this morning, and normally presentations are like the worst thing in the world to me and i get so stressed out, but i tried not to stress out too much, and i was really prepared with an overhead and what i was going to say, and it actually went really well. and my teacher let me go first and leave so we would have as much time as we could for recording. i'm shooting for a 5.0 this semester! so hopefully i'll get at least 4.0.

i've just started to get used to the fact that summer is over. it was such a fun summer, which is pretty much all thanks to lauren. i spent a lot of time with her, and we were really close, and we were good friends to begin with. so as you can imagine it has been kind of hard for both of us, but i think we're doing alright. i guess we'll just see how things go in the coming months. and maybe we'll visit each other at school.

i guesss that's about it. i hope i can finish playing my part for this recording and it will sound good. i really really have to work on my ied project (i'm building a catapult) this weekend, and i have sooo much work due next week that i'm probably not going to be getting much sleep. and next weekend will be the first weekend since school started that i'll be staying up in the capital region, so hopefully i'll find something fun to do (any parties?). hah alriiight, thanks for reading, have a good nighttt.

Time:3:22 am.
so we left for tour on thursday. we were supposed to play a radio show in ct wednesday night but it was taking too long for brianlee to get there since he had to drive back from buffalo because he picked up our trailer there, so we just used the night to get ready for tour instead. we finished making a lot of merch in jeff's room, and discussed our situation. the guy we bought the trailer from didn't have the title, so brianlee had to drive it home with no title and no plates, and he got pulled over and got two tickets for not having these items. so without the title, we couldn't really take it on tour since that's kind of illegal and we could be accused of stealing it, and putting different plates on the trailer could get us arrested. so half the day on thursday, brianlee drove around and called uhaul places trying to get us a trailer to use. when we finally had it, we loaded up the van and left at 5. we were supposed to play a house show at 5 in pennsylvania, so needless to say we were late. but the kids were cool and we made about a hundred dollars. plus, the family let us sleep in their house. we got up in the morning and left for our show that night in detroit, michigan. however, while we were traveling west on i80, our van broke down about 50 miles east of cleveland, ohio. the gas pedal had gotten stuck and we had to get it towed. the guy dropped our van and trailer off at an auto place called ntb in streetsboro, ohio. they said they'd look at it first thing in the morning, so we got a room at the super 8, and hoped it would be a quick fix. after waiting around half of the next day, they informed us that a cable was completely shredded, and they had to order it, and it wouldn't be in until monday or tuesday. so we hung out the rest of saturday, and all day sunday. we just sat around the hotel room and watched stupid shit on tv (like the ridiculous new r kelly videos chapters 1-5) and played rummy 500 and monopoly that we bought from walmart and hung out at steak&shake and went to the goodwill, where i got some really cool tshirts. we thought it would be done on monday, but that evening they told us they'd finish in the morning. finally this morning it was done by 11, and we left before 12. we had discussed it a lot, and calculated that we would have to make $140 at every show just to break even with gas money, and there's a very little chance that would have worked out. so we decided our time and money would be better spent writing and recording. so we just came home. we got to jeff's house at like 740 and unpacked, and lauren picked me up from there and we went to the drive-in with everybody and saw the new willie wonka movie, and fantastic 4. then she drove me home and we hung out a little longer and then she went home. and i went on here and checked my myspace. i can't wait for my laptop to be working again. sorry to everyone who was planning to come to our shows (yee!), we really appreciate the support. oh, and i was originally planning on moving back to school on saturday august 27th, but jeff got a good deal at the recording studio where he's been interning at, where he got to hang out with thursday while they recorded a new song, so we're going to record there the weekend of the 27th-28th, and they're going to help me move in on friday the 26th. that's the current plan. anyway, i'm really tired so i'm going to go sleep. bye!

Time:12:43 pm.
seaside was soo much fun. it was the best four days i've had in a long time, probably a year or two. lauren and her friends were all really nice and fun, and we all got sunburned even though we put on a lot of sunscreen. most of the time we were at the beach. the water was cold so i only went swimming a little and spent most of my time laying on the beach with broccoli. they brought lots of food and the freezer was full of liquor and we had a blast. it was so hard to have to go back to belmay and blockbuster on thursday that i almost cried twice hah. that day, i got home at 1 and showered and did a few things i had to get done, then left at 2 to go to belmay. when i turned on my laptop there, there was a message saying a file was corrupted and i needed the windows setup disk or windows wouldn't start. they didn't give me one with my computer so there wasn't really anything i could do, so i went home. then i worked at blockbuster 5-12:15. the next day i got up early in the morning so i could hang out with lauren before she had to go to work. she's a waitress and was working at wedding that started at 5, but her boss called and said she had to be there at 1, so i didn't see her much but it was still nice. when i got home, i watched a movie i got from blockbuster, and then spent the rest of the day and night, until about 11:30 or so, in my room taking down posters and throwing out / boxing up shit in my room because my dad has been repainting the walls and redoing the floors in all the upstairs bedrooms, and mine is next. it's kind of sad/weird to find stuff from my past that i haven't seen in years, and have to throw some of it out. and to see how much i've grown and realize how old i am now. but oh well, c'est la vie. yesterday i got up early again (about 8) because lauren was coming to church with us, and her car was broken so i had to go pick her up. after church we sat around at my house, then ate lunch, then she kicked my ass in rummy 500, and then i had to drive her back. on the way, we stopped by john hilley's house because he burned me a copy of the windows xp professional cd. lauren and i used it to try to fix my laptop when we got back to her house, but we ran out of time because i had to be at work at 4. she gave me directions of how to get to monroe through the backroads, and i wasn't sure if i was going to make it in time (or at all : P), but i did. so i busted blocks 4-12:30, then came home and tried to fix my computer again. i ended up reinstalling windows, which took like 45 minutes. when it was all ready, i went into 'my documents', and none of my stuff was there, and i got really worried that everything was gone. i was especially sad about losing all the pictures i've taken on my digital camera since i got it for Christmas. but then i found everything so i was happy. i just have to figure out how to get all my programs and preferences and setting back from before. i'll probably wait and ask the help desk at rpi about that. so last night i got to bed a little before 3, and got up at 7 to come to belmay. i was able to get my old files from my laptop that i was working on onto the computer at work, so i've been working on a spreadsheet all morning. and i drank some coffee because i couldn't even keep my head up. so that's my story. it kind of sucks because a week or two ago, i was pretty excited for tour, but now i'm really starting to like lauren a lot and i want to spend more time with her, but i'm going to be away for a month. but i guess that's just the way it is. she's coming over this evening to have dinner with my family and help me finish packing up my room. and tomorrow after belmay, i'm going to finish some stuff up, eat dinner with my family, and then go to lauren's to watch memento, because she told me to rent it so we could watch it because it's a good movie. then wednesday i go to belmay for the last time, and afterwards ITT is playing a radio show in new haven, connecticut. if you want to hear our performance, you can go to the website www.ultraradio.com - we're playing 9-9:40 wednesday night. then thursday we're leaving on tour. here's the current itinerary::

Jul 20 2005 - Ultra Radio (live studio performance) - New Haven, CT

so, as you can see, the last week still could use a few more shows, and i think brianlee is working on that right now. so it should end up being a pretty sweet tour. i just hope there's at least a decent crowd at every show. and it would be nice if we could visit bill in kentucky. if not, i might drive down with ethan and/or lauren after we get home. but i don't know if i'll want to spend any more time driving at that point. and if i don't end up visiting bill, then i'll probably spend my last week at home hanging out with lauren. i move back to rpi on august 27th, and classes start the 29th. so i pretty much have the rest of my summer planned out. i think this is all i have to say to my livejournal. have a nice dayyy.

Time:10:44 pm.
at like 10 i got back from our show at whaley lake. it was a battle of the bands, and tomorrow we'll find out if we won, and i think we have a pretty good chance. but i guess it all depends on who the judges are and what they're into. whatevs. i'm really excited because tomorrow i'm leaving to go to the beach (seaside, to be more specific) with lauren and her friends kate, jackie, christine, pete, and lisa. we're getting a hotel room and bringing lots of alcohol and it's going to be so much fun. we'll be there sunday through thursday, then on thursday i gotta go to belmay till 4 and then blockbuster 5pm-1215am. that'll be rough but at least the beach will be so much fun. then a week later, i leave for ITT's second national tour. this is probably the awesomest summer ever.

Time:5:21 pm.
this is one of the best things i've ever heard [you should read & listen]: http://www.lawrence.com/news/2005/may/06/childrensmusic/
if you don't want to read it, i'll summarize: the new amsterdams (the singer of the get up kids's acoustic band) are releasing a cd for kids and it's really cute!
you should especially download "we can all get along with dinosaurs (demo)". it's so amazing. here are the lyrics:

two happy dinosaurs are walking along, singing this song, laughing like no one's business.
one purple dinosaur holding the hand of a pink dino friend, everyone else was frightened.
people don't know they wouldn't hurt a fly.

one man whose voice was loud said dinos are bound to trample his house, and they should be told to leave here.
one dinosaur did speak, he started to say "don't push us away, cause we don't have any intention of wrecking your home,
we'd like a place of our own."

the people understood that they weren't afraid, so the dinosaurs stayed, and they bought a house on the corner.
two happy dinosaurs open their hearts to all different sorts, and everyone learned a lesson.
that though we're all different, we can all get along.
we can all get along.

and in case you haven't heard, my dino friend broccoli got a myspace and you should add him if you want him to be your myspace dino friend. you should have seen the look on his face when he heard this song!

speaking of the get up kids, i saw them on sunday in sayresville new jersey on their last show on the east coast. i drove down with kt, and we picked up jeannette at the train station nearby. i wanted to get some merch, but it was expensive and i need to save my money, so i didn't. the tour tshirt and zip up sweatshirt were really cool too. but at least i found a really awesome blood brother bracelet on the floor in the pit.

in other news, my friend lauren (who i've been good friends with for about two years) and i have been spending a lot of time together since summer started, so we decided to go out. so she's my girlfriend until july 21st, when i leave for tour. she's so nice and i always have lots of fun when we hang out! we have a beach trip coming up july 10-13 and i bet it's going to be the highlight of my summer. that and tour.

blockbuster has been giving me a few more hours lately, even though i have to skip out on a family picnic that i want to go to in order to work this saturday. belmay is still kinda boring, but i'm starting to make a report that kind of sums up all the work i've been doing, and keith said i could bring it to school and he'll write a letter and maybe i'll be able to get some college credit for it. that would be great.

the other day my mom expressed her disappointment in me going on tour again, but there isn't really anything i can do about it at this point, so i'm just going to work at blockbuster as much as i can and finish up everything with my internship in the next three weeks, and then we'll be on the road, and it'll be fun, as long as i don't miss lauren too much, and as long as the van gets us home safely, which jeff has expressed much confidence that it will.

Time:10:56 am.
soo i'm at my internship. and i'm pretty bored. keith was supposed to be back from the uk this week, but i guess he's not coming back until next week, and he didn't really leave me anything to do. but i have a funny feeling he thinks i've been doing stuff, even though i haven't. i didn't even come in yesterday. and i was only here half the day tuesday, and most of that time i was helping hope do random stuff like shred papers and update employees' vacations schedules. whatevs.

last friday i went to the goshen diner with lauren, jackie, and kate. after being at rpi for so long, you have no idea (unless you go to rpi too) how nice it is just to hang out with girls. especially for me, because for some reason i think i feel more comfortable talking to and hanging out with girls. i guess i'm weird. i would post a picture or two, but i'm having trouble connecting to the rpi's rcs file space, but i i've been emailing the help desk so hopefully i'll be able to post pictures soon.

saturday was a big family day, and it was actually really cool. my brother ethan came up from queens friday night, and my brother bill and his wife jayme drove up from kentucky. the occasion was my dad's fiftieth birthday, but it mostly just seemed like an excuse to have the whole family together for the first time since Christmas. we boys threw a football around in our yard for a little while (which i hadn't done in years), and then played two-on-two basketball in our driveway, and then my mom and sister ellen joined in to make it three-on-three. after basketball, bill took me and ethan on "a top secret mission." he didn't say where we were going, but ended up taking us to a beer store in monroe and told ethan and i to pick out a six pack each. i don't really drink beer so i didn't know what to get, but i remembered jackie told me the night before that sam adams summer ale is really good, so i picked that. after we got back, the rest of the afternoon and evening was spent sitting around drinking beer and hanging out. jayme came over for dinner at 700 or so, and we hung out some more. we played poker and after my parents went to bed, bill started giving everyone shots of tequila. it's weird drinking with your siblings. after we were pretty drunk, the four of us had a long conversation about our love lives, our parents, moving, and everything. we got to ask questions and say things we probably wouldn't feel comfortable asking and saying while sober. it was interesting and i learned a lot about my brothers and sister that i didn't know before.

i wanted to go to church the next morning, but i was really tired and i knew none of my siblings would be going, so i just slept in. i helped clean up a little, but i spent pretty much all day sitting around doing nothing. i didn't feel like going out that night because i was real tired.

on monday lauren c came over and we played super mario world (for super nintendo) and beat it in about five hours, including dinner. i think that's the first time i've had a girl over for dinner and didn't feel slightly awkward with my parents and all, but maybe that's because lauren isn't my girlfriend. whatevs.

on tuesday i had my internship and got out early. i didn't have to go in the next day, which meant i could stay out late, and i got an invitation from jordyn and lauren to go swimming in someone's pool. it was at this kid pete's house in warwick, so i met him and james and a few other kids. i was shivering the whole time because it was cold in the pool, so we didn't stay in for very long. after that, we went to this lake in warwick (i forgot the name; i think it starts with a c) and brought logs to make a fire and just sat on the dock and watched the fire and talked and looked at the stars and it was nice.

yesterday, ryan picked me up and we went to jeff's house. first we had a reeeaally looong band meeting about our press kits, and then we spent a long time listening to our songs to try to decide what songs and recordings to put into our press kits when we send them to labels. after much deliberation, we decided to go back to ecstatica (sp?) studios in middletown, where we recorded "the history of things to come" ep. we're going to record three songs - two new ones, and redo an older one. when we were done deciding, we practiced, then went home.

early yesterday evening, i was online and jenna from minisink IMed me and she said there was someone she wanted me to meet. it was a girl named lara, who i had seen on myspace, and i wanted to meet her, so we ended up meeting at the mall at 8. we went to h&m because i wanted to get a bathing suit that i saw there, then we went to a brand new ice cream place and we sat down and ate ice cream. then we went on a ferris wheel because there was a random carnival-type thing going on in the middle of middletown. then we went to the diner and got drinks and talked some more. she's real cute and nice and told me about how she had a really shitty first year of college. i had to go to bed sort of early since i had to get up this morning for my internship, so we went home after that. she said we could go to the free concert at coney island july 16th, because she really wanted to go too. also, she said she and jenna might come to our show in poughkeepsie with big d and the kids table on sunday.

speaking of shows, we have three this weekend. friday night is at saratoga winners, which is in latham, near albany. that night we're going to stay at jeff's and/or ryan's apartment(s) in albany and hang out in albany saturday afternoon, then drive down for our show in poughkeepsie on saturday. that night we're playing at some girl's sweet sixteen party because she offered us a hundred dollars to play. then sunday we're playing at club crannel street in poughkeepsie with big d and the kids table. so come to a show if you can make it! it kind of sucks because after i found out i was going to be gone all weekend, my parents told me that they were going to be away this weekend. and my parents never go away. so there goes what is probably my only chance of having a party at my house this summer. oh well.

sorry this entry is really long and boring. tomorrow's friday, so i hope everyone has a good weekend!

Time:6:11 pm.
http://www.villagevoice.com/specials/siren/ -- who's coming with me? i really want to see mates of state. it's free!

jury duty was fun, i was sad that i didn't get picked to be on the jury. i thought it was going to be really boring, which i guess it kind of was, but hope said it was kind of interesting too, and i agree that it was. the trial was about some guy that used a forged instrument -- in this case, a forged check -- to try to get money from the bank. i guess that's pretty boring, but i thought the jury selection process itself was rather interesting. and it gave me a lot of free time to catch up on reading. while i was waiting around for hours, i got to finish reading the perks of being a wallflower for the second time, which i started again like six months ago and haven't read since. there was a major part of the story that i totally missed the first time i read it, so i'm glad i re-read it. i'm so bad at reading. and it was nice to read it again because i was looking at it from a slightly different perspective, now that i'm a few years older and done with my first year of college. and i started reading e: the story of a number, again. it's all about the number e (the natural log) and the history behind it. i got it as a prize for being a high scorer in math team in 11th grade i think. jury duty was also cool because i met a cute girl named jen who graduated from pine bush last year. she was the only other person near my age, and she was really nice too, even though we didn't talk much. but i guess i won't have to do jury duty again for another six years. and by then, i will probably be too old and busy to enjoy hours and hours of sitting around and waiting with nothing to do. growing up is cool and totally sucks at the same time. but at least i get $80 ($40 for each day - today and yesterday), which is especially good since blockbuster decided to be a cock gobbler this week and not give me any hours. plus it got me out of my internship early yesterday and completely out of it today. but i think i'm going in tomorrow to make up for the time i missed.

speaking of my internship, i'll tell you about it. the following paragraph will be extremely boring and i won't be offended if you just completely skip it.

belmay is a fragrance company. they mix a bunch of different chemicals together to make certain fragrances that they then sell to other companies to go in soaps, shampoos, candles, air fresheners, etc. currently, on the floor of their plant (which is located in the industrial park in chester), they have shelves and shelves of many different sizes of containers. each container has a label that says the chemical's name, serial number, and its location on the shelves. i am working with a nice gentleman named keith, who is actually part of an independant contracting agency called dp&c that does engineering work for belmay, to work on about three projects for belmay. the projects are the implementation of a barcode system for faster and more efficient batch processing; the consolidation of the approximately 84 different container sizes into four or five; the purchase and installation of an automated storage and retrieval system for these containers; and the construction of an addition onto their plant. the first task keith had me do was cataloguing all the different container sizes, which had never been done before. i got a list of the names, numbers, and locations of all the chemicals on the floor, and spent two and half days walking around with measuring tape, measuring the sizes of the containers, counting how many of each, and recording it next to the other information on each of the 28 sheets. then i spent the rest of the third day entering all that information into a spreadsheet on the computer. on tuesday of this week i did the same thing for the containers in the hot room, which really sucked because it's like 110 degrees in there and it took me like two hours and i felt kind of sick afterwards. and i spent the rest of the day printing out these documents called "item onhand by location reports" for the top 200 most frequently used chemicals at belmay. the reports were from a server that was running in real time and said how much of each material they currently had onhand, and what location(s) it was in. this we will use later, keith explained, for when we are redesigning the layout of the plant with the proposed addition: we are going to design a logical material flow such that the most frequently used materials are in the center (located on a mezzanine so that pressurized nitrogen would not be required to pump materials; gravity will do the work) and the less frequently used ones will be on the outside. yesterday we met with bob from remstar, one of the companies we are considering from which to purchase an automated storage and retrieval system. this would allow us to consolidate the 6000 square feet currently being used for storing containers on shelves into 1000 square feet of the automated storage and retrieval system, thereby taking advantage of the high ceilings of belmay's plant. i appreciated keith and bob's kind words regarding my hard work in counting and cataloguing the eighty-something different sized containers. like i said, i got out early yesterday and didn't go in at all today because of jury duty, but i'm going to go in tomorrow to make up, even though i'm only supposed to be interning tuesday through thursday. oh, and for the first week i had to wear a lab coat that had the name "sandy" on it, but on tuesday they gave me the ones that say "colin".

last night i went to lauren's house and jordyn was there and from like 8:30 pm to 1:00 am we watched episodes from the first season of the oc because lauren bought it on dvd, and it was a lot of fun. we got through two of the seven dvds. the oc is amazing. lauren and jordyn are so nice and fun, i hope i get to hang out with them and their other friends a lot this summer. i just feel a little weird because they're all friends and i kind of feel like i'm inviting myself along and i'm the only boy but they say it's okay so i hope it is.

okay my mom just said it's time to eat dinner so i'm going to go, byyye!

Time:12:58 pm.
friday night i worked 5-10 and then drove to a party in pine island that lauren invited me to. it was at this girl jordyn's house and the directions lauren gave me were a little wrong so it took me an hour and a half to get there from monroe but i made it. i drank way too much and way too fast and i think i threw up and don't remember half the night. i got to meet lauren's friend jackie, and i mostly hung out with her and lauren and kate who i sort of knew from new vision. they're all really nice and fun. jordyn and lauren had to go to work the next day but me and jackie and kate went to a restaurant and ate gyros for brunch. the rest of the day, my dad made me do stupid shit like clean the bathroom and vacuum my car and help him with renovating my brothers' room. i wasn't feeling too well from drinking so much and not sleeping much so i stayed at home last night and went to bed earlier than usual. and then this morning i went to church.
i'm kind of sad right now because it seems like everyone has like a 'crew' that they hang out with all the time. but with the exception of friday night and one or two or three other occasions, i've sat around at home every night so far this summer. no one ever invites me to do stuff. and i'd feel weird asking people to hang out because i feel like if they wanted to hang out with me, they would ask. oh well, i guess by now i'm starting to get used to being alone all the time. but if anyone wants to hang out tonight, i work 5-10 (or maybe less) at the blockbuster in monroe and then i'm not doing anything after that. thanksss.

Time:2:00 am.
tonight jeannette and kt snuck me into the warwick drive-in to see fever pitch. i got ride in the trunk and it was way fun. it was my first time at the drive-in, and it was really cool. the movie was really cute too, even though i don't really like baseball. i love drew berrymore movies; they make me wish i had a girlfriend. melissa and i are supposed to hang out tomorrow night after she gets out of work at like 10 and i have no idea what we're going to do. i have to call blockbuster on sunday so they can put me on the schedule, and my preliminary schedule at belmay is going to be 8-4 on tuesday, wednesday, and thursday. okay that's about it. sorry nothing interesting. k bye.

• i got a 4.0 this past semester. i rule. that brings my cumulative gpa up to 3.87.
• today i spent almost 8 hours in blockbuster training. all the people were really nice but it was a little boring sometimes but i'm just happy that i have a paying job. i finish my training tuesday and i'm not sure when i start working.
• my (unfortunately unpaid) belmay internship starts on monday. i was told i would be working on projects to help make belmay automated (such as a barcode system) and to expand their plant. hopefully i'll be able to work out a schedule so i can maximize my work time at both jobs.
• having two jobs and still playing shows with ITT doesn't give me much free time to have fun, especially since belmay wants me during the week and blockbuster is probably going to want me on weekends. but it will be really good to get engineering work experience, and i need to make some money, especially if the band wants me to go on tour for the last month of summer. but we might have to cancel some of our weekend shows before then so i can work. i dunno though, we'll see.
• last night we played in greenwood lake with the starkiller and next ii nothing, and i got to use my new mouthpiece that i bought when me and brianlee went to a music store in new jersey the other day and it helped me play better for our last song.
• me and lauren c hung out yesterday and visited this year's new vision engineering class and went to subway and it was fun to hang out with her. and the night before that we watched the oc and i can't wait for the season finale next week.
• soo hopefully these jobs and tour won't be so bad, but i'm looking forward to next semester starting, even though once it starts i'm probably just going to sit around my dorm being lonely like i did all of freshman year, but it'll be especially bad next spring because jeff is graduating in december so he won't be in albany anymore so that will be sad. ugh. oh well, this is my life and i'm doing my best and i can't think of anything to make it better and i guess i don't really have anything to complain about because it's going alright so i guess i'll just deal with it. thanks for listening.

Time:5:55 pm.
hmm how about i make a real entry for a change.

we had a show friday at the american legion in greenwood lake. it was pretty cool. the crowd was mostly fifteen year olds and stuff but i played really well so i was happy about that. and ryan said we made like seventy dollars in merch, so that's not too shabby. the first few bands weren't very good. but one of the better ones sounded like bayside. and the band after them were hardcore, and they were pretty awesome. the singer spit a glob of flem on the ceiling and then it slowly dripped down and he caught it in his mouth. i'm not sure whether i thought it was awesome or just gross, but i guess that's cool.

saturday i got up early for band practice, which was surprisingly short because ryan had to leave at noon and we started at like 11:15. ryan had to go back to albany to meet his siblings for dinner or something, so i figured jeff was going to drive me back to albany on sunday. but that afternoon when i was helping my dad do maintenance on the tractors, jeff called and said he was about to leave to go back to albany. i was already planning to go to the mall with my mom later that afternoon, so i said i guess i'll have her or someone drive me back sunday, because i wanted to spend more than a few hours at home for once.

so my mom, dad, sister, and i went to the mall and i got three pairs of pants because i really needed some new pants. and we went to lowe's home improvement warehouse because my dad is into that sort of thing. i was driving so i put in tilly and the wall because they're awesome and everyone in the car fell asleep on the way home. then i helped my mom make dinner. she made chicken stir fry; it was good. then i did the dishes. and we watched ocean's twelve, which was a little hard to follow for me since i haven't seen ocean's eleven.

i went to church on sunday morning. Jews for Jesus came and told us how the passover has a lot to do with Jesus, which was kind of interesting. after church we went to walmart like we always do after church, and then to the home depot and my mom and dad got plants to put in pots to put on our porches and stuff. then half the afternoon i helped my dad do work in ethan and bill's room. we took down all ethan's posters and artwork and stuff and disassembled the bunkbed and patched up all the thumbtack holes with spackle. i think my dad is starting to get the house ready to sell for whenever my mom and dad move, since their last child will be done with highschool in june. it's kind of sad to think that in a few years i won't really have a home to go home to. oh well, c'est la vie. my dad got offered a job in kentucky or something that would pay an extra ten thousand dollars a year. i don't think he's going to take it, but an extra ten grand a year is something to think about.

i spent a lot of time watching tv this weekend. which kind of sucks, because tv is so lame. i can't believe i have spent so many hours of my life watching it. it doesn't do anything for you. it just wastes your time. at least i don't spend anywhere near as much time watching it as i used to. in fact, i only watch tv when i'm home. the jamster commercials on mtv2 were really annoying me again, so i called the number it says to call if you have any questions about jamster, and i was like "hi, i don't own a cell phone or anything, but i was just wondering if you would be able to stop playing jamster commercials, because they're really annoying." and the dude was indian or something and kind of chuckled and said something like "i'm sorry sir, but we are on the inside and we don't make those sort of decisions." so i was just like "okay well could you just tell your boss or whatever that even if i was interested in your service, i wouldn't buy it because the commercials are so annoying." and he was like "okay sir i'll tell my manager, have a nice day" or something. he was a nice guy. i don't think they're going to stop playing jamster commercials though.

my mom made pork chops for dinner, not my favorite, but she also made these really yummy hotdog-like things, so i had one of each. and green beans. and i had a sweet potato, because those are awesome. and i did the dishes again. i watched an episode of the simpsons i'd never seen before but ellen said it was an old episode. i guess i haven't seen any episodes from the past couple of seasons, even though it used to be my favorite show. after that i really didn't want to watch tv anymore and i didn't know what else to do so i went for a walk by myself. i walked to the reservoir and played on the playground by myself and there was no one around. i went really high on the swings. it was sad. it was pretty dark by the time i got home. my dad watched something about world war ii that had bob dole in it, then something else about submarines.

since my rides back to albany already left, and my sister was coming up on monday for the concert anyway, i just figured i would miss my first two classes on monday and have ellen drive me up that day. so we left at 1 and stopped at the bank and got gas in troy since it's madd expensive at home and then went to my dorm and then went to iee with ryan, then got food in the union, then met up with everyone else at bray, then left for the concert.

my first concert was when ethan took me to warped tour 2000, and i mostly went to see greenday, and i saw them for the second time last night. i thought the pepsi arena was going to be much bigger, but i guess it's better that it was smaller because i was able to get pretty close. i'm glad we left pretty early too so we got a decent spot, and then i moved forward once my chemical romance started playing. i was kind of disappointed by their performance, mostly because they only played one song from their old cd ("our lady of sorrows"; awesome song), which is much better than the new cd, and it was the song that's like two and half minutes long. i also probalby didn't like it very much because most of the crowd was there for greenday and wasn't interested in mcr at all, so they pretty much just stood there, which kind of sucked, but i guess that's what you get for opening for greenday.

at first i was disappointed by greenday's performance too because the first like six songs or so were all from american idiot, and i was scared that they were just going to play their whole new cd and then stop. but as soon as i yelled "play old stuff!" they played longview and a lot of their other older songs. i wish they would play stuff from 1039/smoothedoutslappyhours and kerplunk because those are my two favorite cds by them, but of course they didn't. but they played a lot of other old favorites and put on a really good performance. billie joe is such a rock star. they let three kids come up and play their instruments for the last part of "knowledge", and billie joe let the kid who played guitar keep the guitar, which must've been really awesome for him. and when he went off stage bj said "now go practice, because you suck!" haha. and he spray supersoakers into the audience. and they had lots of pyrotechnics. and a second guitarist for some of the songs, so billie joe was playing guitar only like half the time, and i thought it was kind of weird that he was just singing into a mic without playing guitar, but it was pretty cool i guess. and they brought a saxophone and trumpet player out and played "king for a day" which was cool. and they played songs for all the moms and dads in the audience like "shout" and "we are the champions", which was awesome. i was in the pit most of the time, and i ellen was even closer to the front than i was. it was her first concert, and she had a really good time. we left the pit a few songs before the end so she could buy a t-shirt. there were lots of couples there and they made me sad, especially since there were three times during the concert when it would have been really nice to have someone to slowdance with and kiss. oh well.

duff gave me a ride back so ellen could go straight home since she had to get up for school this morning. i tried doing my physics homework after the concert, but i don't think my brain was up to the task, so i went to sleep and did it this morning in social psychology instead, and it was a lot easier then. in psyc, we watched a video on dotcom company entrepreneurs and how their business failed. then i had physics. my last test in physics is friday, and my current grade is like a 90 so i really want to do well on it so i can get an A in the class. i got my last differential equations exam back, and i got a 19.5 out of 20, so that's pretty awesome. i'm almost positive i have an A in diff eq. and when i was about to hand in my course evaluation form, professor boudjelkha came up to me and was like "when i first saw your name, i thought it was joke, but... you really are sweet." haha it was so funny, he's such a cool guy. after class i went to the gym and then i took a shower and then came back and cleaned my room a little and then started writing this livejournal entry, and it's almost time for dinner.

i'm still waiting to hear back from belmay. last week the secretary told me that she gave my resume to the vice president of operations, and he was excited to have me come work there because they wanted to make belmay automated, and he was going to have me work on a barcode system or something, but their headquarters isn't sure if they'll be able to fit me into their budget. i don't even care if i don't get a lot of money; i'll be happy with minimum wage. i just really really really really really want this. i think she said she'd call tomorrow so i hope hope hope hope hope they said they'll be able to pay me. so i guess as of now i'm planning to work at belmay for the first two months of summer, and then go on tour with insult to tradition for the last month, then come back to school in the fall. pretty cool, right?

okay i guess that's all i have to say. i don't have class tomorrow so i'm not sure what i'm going to do with myself. sorry if you read this whole entry and were expecting me to say anything relevant. have a nice day.

my schedule next semester sucks : (.

engr-1600 = material science for engineers
engr-2530 = strength of materials
engr-2050 = introduction to engineering design
arts-2500 = history of western music
maybe i'll die over the summer so i won't have to follow this shitty schedule.
it's actually not that bad, i'm just going to want to kill myself on mondays and thursdays.
